Health Ministry introduces Rubella vaccine as Measles-Rubella vaccine
- The Union Health Ministry has introduced Rubella vaccine as Measles-Rubella vaccine in its Universal Immunization Programme.
- The vaccine will be administered to children up to the age group of nine months to 15 years under Measles - Rubella Campaign in a phased manner.
- The campaign aims at rapidly building up immunity for both measles and rubella.

- The Chinese Mobile handset brand 'Gionee' has signed on Indian captain Virat Kohli as brand ambassador.
- He will be joining Bollywood actor Alia Bhatt.

- It has expanded into other markets, including Taiwan, India, Bangladesh, Nigeria, Vietnam, Myanmar, Nepal, Thailand, the Philippines and Algeria.

Haryana to set up 'Prarambh School for Teachers Education' in Jhajjar
i.In Haryana, the State level Prarambh School for Teachers Education would be set up at village Silani in district Jhajjar over an area of 10 acres.
ii. Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal who presided over the first meeting of the Governing Body of Prarambh School for Teachers Education, at Chandigarh stated that it would have all basic facilities.
iii.At present, it is being run in a school building and providing education to students of 15 states.

ISRO & CNES ink pact on satellite launch
- Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and French Space agency (CNES) have signed a partnership agreement in satellite launch technology.
- The agreement was signed between ISRO Chairman Kiran Kumar and CNES President Jean-Yves Le Gall in the presence of visiting French Minister of Foreign Affairs Jean-Marc Ayrault in Bengaluru (Karnataka).
- Strengthening the CNES-ISRO partnership will enable France to benefit from the Indian model of streamlining the costs of the space program.
. BIS revises Indian Standard on gold hallmarking
- The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) has revised Indian Standard on gold hallmarking, which is effective from 1st January this year.
- Now, the hallmarked Gold jewellry will be available in three grades of 14 Carat, 18 Carat and 22 Carat.
- The cartage will also be marked on jewellery in addition to fineness for the convenience of consumer.
Note:
- Hallmark on gold jewelry will now have four marks, like the BIS Mark, the purity in carat and fineness, assaying centre's identification mark and jeweller's identification mark.
